What exactly is the SILKVAIL Filtered Hand Shower System?
SILKVAIL is a handheld shower head with a built-in 6-stage water filtration system. It removes chlorine, heavy metals, limescale, sediment, and bacteria from your shower water before it touches your skin or hair. It comes as a Starter Kit including the shower head and filter cartridges — enough for 3 months of use.
What does the 6-stage filter actually remove?
The 6-stage system is designed to remove:
✦ Chlorine and chloramines — added to tap water for disinfection, but harsh on skin and hair
✦ Heavy metals — including lead, iron, and mercury from ageing pipes
✦ Rust and sediment — particles that accumulate in water supply lines
✦ Limescale minerals — calcium and magnesium that leave buildup on skin and hair
✦ Bacteria and microorganisms — filtered through KDF and activated carbon media
✦ Chlorine and chloramines — added to tap water for disinfection, but harsh on skin and hair

What is Ultra-Mist Tech?
Ultra-Mist Tech is our spray engineering that creates a fine, enveloping mist pattern rather than harsh, concentrated jets. The result is water that feels softer on contact — distributed more evenly across skin and hair, without high-pressure impact that can strip moisture.
What is the silk-feel storage sack for?
The reusable storage sack is included to keep your SILKVAIL clean, dry, and protected — whether that's between heavy use, when travelling, or just stored neatly on your bathroom shelf. It is made from a soft, textured fabric and is machine washable.
Installation
Will it fit my shower?
Yes. SILKVAIL uses a G½" thread, which is the universal standard for shower hose connections across Europe and most of the world. It is compatible with all standard handheld shower hoses. If you currently have a handheld shower, SILKVAIL will fit.
How do I install it?
Installation takes under 5 minutes and requires no tools:
1. Unscrew your existing shower head from the hose
2. Screw SILKVAIL onto the hose by hand
3. Tighten the connection until firm
4. Turn on the water to test the flow

Will it affect my water pressure?
SILKVAIL is designed for high-pressure, leak-free performance. Most users notice no meaningful change in pressure. In very low-pressure systems, a slight reduction is possible as water passes through the filter media — but this is uncommon and typically minor.
Filter & Maintenance
How long does each filter last?
Each filter cartridge lasts approximately 3 months under normal daily use (1–2 showers per day). 3 months of filtration. In areas with very hard water, the filter may need replacing slightly sooner.
How do I know when to replace the filter?
The simplest indicator is time — replace every 3 months. You may also notice: reduced water flow, a return of the chlorine smell, or water feeling harder than usual. We recommend setting a calendar reminder when you install each new cartridge.
How do I replace the filter cartridge?
Filter replacement takes under 60 seconds:
1. Twist the filter housing counter-clockwise to open
2. Remove the used cartridge
3. Insert the new cartridge
4. Twist the housing back until closed

Where can I buy replacement filters?
Replacement filter cartridges are available directly from our store. We recommend ordering before your current filter runs out so there is no gap in filtration. A subscription option is available for automatic delivery every 3 months.
Results
How quickly will I notice a difference?
Most customers notice their skin feels less tight and dry within the first 1–2 weeks. Hair improvements — less frizz, better moisture retention — tend to follow within 2–4 weeks. Results vary depending on your local water hardness; customers in hard water areas typically notice the difference faster.
Will it help with sensitive skin or eczema?
Many customers with sensitive skin or eczema-prone skin report a noticeable reduction in irritation and dryness after switching to filtered water. Chlorine and hard minerals are known to aggravate sensitive skin conditions. However, SILKVAIL is not a medical device and we make no medical claims. If you have a diagnosed skin condition, consult your dermatologist.
Does it work in hard water areas?
Yes — and it is often most effective in hard water areas, where mineral content is highest. The filter's calcium sulfite and KDF media are specifically designed to handle high mineral loads. Customers in hard water regions tend to notice the biggest difference after switching.

Where do you ship to?
We currently ship across US and Europe. Delivery times and costs vary by country and are shown at checkout. Orders are typically dispatched within 1–2 business days.
What is your return policy?
We offer a 30-day return policy. If you are not satisfied with your SILKVAIL for any reason, contact us within 30 days of receiving your order and we will arrange a return and full refund. The product must be returned in its original packaging. Used filter cartridges are non-returnable for hygiene reasons.
Something arrived damaged — what do I do?
We're sorry to hear that. Email us at hello@silkvail.com with your order number and a photo of the damage, and we will send a replacement at no cost.
